Studio Terrain aims to grow its landscape architecture studio by welcoming a mid-level Landscape Designer or Landscape Architect to our team. If you possess an enthusiasm for crafting distinctive outdoor environments, hold a degree in Landscape Architecture, and have a background of 5+ years in landscape design, you could be the perfect addition to our workforce.
We're particularly keen on individuals who possess a desire to broaden their expertise in Landscape Architecture, encompassing aspects such as planting, software development, design execution and project management. Studio Terrain is a distinguished design firm catering to luxury-level residential properties in the Greater Seattle area. As part of our team, you will collaborate closely with the principal Landscape Architect, fellow designers and Project Managers from our build division. You will lead and participate in various aspects of the design process, such as schematic design, plan set development, material selections, and permit acquisition. In this position you will own all aspects of a project from its inception to the final punchlist walkthrough during construction.
· Assign tasks / manage project team on projects under your management
· Lead and participate in project design charettes and provide unique input during schematic design phase
· Collaborate with construction project managers and crew
· A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university.
· A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the Landscape Architecture industry.
· Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, taking direction from supervisors while thriving in a team-oriented environment.
· Proficient hand drafting and hand rendering skills.
· Capability to interpret and understand existing plan sets.
· Comfort presenting and communicating with clients, most of which are high-end home owners
· Knowledge of native and ornamental planting specific to the Pacific Northwest region.
· Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD and Land F/X and/or Vectorworks
· Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketchup.
· A strong passion for creating distinctive, aesthetically pleasing spaces
· A genuine passion for learning and continual growth within the landscape architecture industry.
· Proficiency in on-site measuring and base map creation
· Familiar with permitting processes and local codes
· Clear and effective communication skills—written, verbal, and graphic
· Lives within a commutable distance to job site in the Greater Seattle Area
· Experience with photorealistic rendering software is a plus.
· An expressed interest in pursuing a Washington State Landscape Architecture license if it is not already secured
