Job Summary
The Land Technician is responsible for research and administration associated with identifying and tracking mineral ownership and lease validity in support of operations in Texas.
Duties and job responsibilities:
- Research and review records, in order to capture well interest participation, payout interests, well spacing, lease stipulations, title issues, etc. for a complete land analysis that supports the AFE approval process for operated and non-operated wells
- Coordinate with land team, drilling and regulatory personnel to timely prepare and submit AFEs to partners to secure participation election and communicate partner elections to accounting and land administration for proper billing and remittance
- Provide support for writing, circulating and administering assignments and contracts as directed by Landman
- Coordinate preparation and processing of all land documents, including Operating Agreements, Communitization Agreements, Unit and Unit Operating Agreements, Participating area documents and exhibits
- Work closely with Land Administration to insure a smooth transition of leases, contracts and division orders for the initial Land records set up.
- Work with mapping personnel in preparation, review and updating of land maps
- Review lease rental and expiration calendars in conjunction with Landman
- Assist Landman in preparing documentation for spacing and density hearings
- 3-5 years of experience in Land or Land Administration role
- Strong working knowledge of leases, titles, and contracts
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- High level of motivation, self-starter
- Bachelor's degree in Business, majoring in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Energy Management, or equivalent land experience
- Intermediate to Advance in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
