Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable HR Generalist to support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department during a period of organizational transformation. This role plays a critical function in delivering key HR services across labor relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, and policy compliance. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring HR processes run smoothly and align with organizational values and goals.
Job Functions & Responsibilities:
•Serve as the first point of contact for employees on HR matters and support management in resolving employee relations issues.
•Collaborate with Labor Relations Leadership and HR Business Partners on complex employee relations and union matters.
•Support recruitment operations by posting roles, coordinating interviews, and managing candidate communications, background checks, and onboarding logistics.
•Advise managers on talent decisions including hiring, terminations, promotions, and performance management.
•Prepare offer letters and ensure timely and accurate updates of employee data in the SAP HRIS system.
•Conduct new hire orientations and facilitate a positive onboarding experience.
•Administer core HR processes including benefits coordination, leave management, workers’ compensation claims, and employee recognition programs.
•Monitor HR compliance with legal requirements and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
•Plan and support internal HR events, meetings, and special projects.
Required Skills:
•Strong knowledge of employee relations, including union environments and labor protocols (IBEW experience a plus).
•Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities and multi-task effectively.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms such as SAP.
•Familiarity with medical and supplemental employee benefit plans is advantageous.
Education & Certifications:
•Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resource Management or Business Administration.
•Master’s degree preferred.
•2+ years of experience in an HR generalist role preferred.
•Experience in a unionized or electric utility work environment is a strong plus.
•PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.

Pay: $40.00 - $44.00 per hour
