POSITION: Lab Technician

We are currently looking for motivated and driven individuals to join our lab team. Work will be performed in a metal analytical laboratory. Work environment includes acids/bases, hot work areas, hoods, and industrial processes. Attention to detail is important since processes require accuracy in weighing samples.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

· XRF analysis of metallic samples and sorting based on analysis requirements

· Acid hot plate digestion of samples as necessary

· Fire and Fusion Assay analysis of materials as necessary

· Cleaning of laboratory equipment and area daily

· Assisting in other tasks as directed

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

· Ideal candidate will have bachelor’s degree in any science field; otherwise, minimum requirement is High School Diploma/GED, but Associates Degree preferred

· Basic knowledge of chemistry preferred

· Knowledge of Laboratory safety practices and procedures is desirable

· Ability to demonstrate strong initiative and a willingness to perform tasks unassigned

· Willingness to share and discuss ideas

· Strong attention to detail a must

· Strong communication and verbal skills

· Ability/Willingness to learn and write documentation

· Positive, can-do attitude, team-player with great internal customer service attitude very important!

· Knowledge of Laboratory safety practices and procedures is desirable, but not required

· Use of respirator required

· Ability to work overtime periodically
