Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Oil and Gas procedures and techniques, with a focus on Sucker Rod quality control and compliance. This role is essential in supporting our research and development efforts, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis while adhering to Good Laboratory Practices . Assist with analysis of failed sucker rod components, retrieve, tag, catalog, clean, prep, section test, and photograph failed specimens.
- Conduct laboratory tests and experiments following established protocols to ensure compliance with TRC standards.
- Compose written reports listing observations, findings, analysis, and conclusions with pertinent photographic evidence and test results
- Utilize laboratory information management systems for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
- Involvement with various other laboratory functions: fatigue testing, instrument calibration, product condition evaluations.
- Assist in the preparation of samples for analysis, including histology, microscopic, and other laboratory techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of testing, observations, and results in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with team members on research projects, contributing to scientific research initiatives and development of new methodologies.
- Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies, including cleaning and calibration as necessary.
- A degree or certification in a relevant scientific field is preferred; experience in Oilfield in a laboratory setting is highly desirable.
- Experience/knowledge in oilfield artificial lift technology, specifically sucker rod lift method; experience/knowledge in fracture mechanics; experience/knowledge in sucker rod manufacture and/or inspection; experience/knowledge in rod string design predictive modeling.
- Previous experience working under FDA regulations is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively.
- Proficiency in mathematics as it relates to laboratory calculations and analyses.
- Computer literate; basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
