Lab Chemist

NSB Omega is searching for a Lab Chemist for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Superior, WI.

Assignment Description

Duties:

- Participate in all refinery safety & health initiatives.

o Perform routine and QC testing as directed by the Chemists.

o Document all testing results in the Laboratory Information Management System.

o Clean and maintain laboratory instruments, equipment and areas. Perform routine maintenance on instruments as required. Assist the Chemists with more complex repairs.

o Write Safe Work Permits for maintenance to be performed on the building, grounds or instruments.

o Perform other duties as assigned ( QC administration, writing procedures, ordering supplies, training, etc. )

o Assist with inventory control.

o Write work requests for work that Maintenance will perform.

o Assist the Lab Tester with tank sampling if necessary

o Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

o Scientific and math skills to apply formulas, identify significant figures and round numbers as required

Qualifications:

1. B.S. in Chemistry (preferred)

2. 4-year science related degree with 2 years (~ 20+ credits ) of general and organic Chemistry classes with labs

3. 2-4 years of Laboratory experience
