We are seeking a Junior to Intermediate Environmental/Water Resources Engineer to work with our surface water team focused on mine water management based in Sudbury, Ontario.
Our surface water team interacts regularly with our other technical groups (hydrogeology, geochemistry, civil/geotechnical engineering) as part of our Canada Geoenvironmental group, creating substantial opportunity for cross-discipline learning. Our projects assist domestic and international mining projects from a wide range of commodities and mining approaches to responsibly manage water through the full mining cycle, from planning through closure.
The responsibilities of this position will vary depending on applicant interest and qualifications, but will generally include:
- Development of water and load balance models to inform site water management decisions.
- Hydraulic analysis and design, to inform pipeline and channel conveyance design;
- Hydrological evaluations in a variety of climatic regimes to inform site water management;
- Water quality/treatment process assessments to inform water treatment design.
- Opportunities for water management field work globally.
- Technical reporting

- A degree in environmental, civil, chemical, mining, water resource, or chemical engineering. Those with other relevant training and/or experience are encouraged to apply.
- Employee must be based in Sudbury, Ontario
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in either mining and/or previous consulting experience.
- Strong analytical and computer skills in Excel are required, with additional specialized design/analysis software being an asset (e.g., Goldsim, HEC‑RAS, HEC-HMS, PCSWMM, WMS, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Advanced Excel, R, Python, Leapfrog, Civil 3D, Claude Code etc.
- Professional registration or eligibility to obtain it.
The estimated base pay range for this position is $75,000 to $110,000. The salary offered will be commensurate with relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.
