The Jr. OT Network Engineer position is an entry level position in the Operational Technology (OT) Network field. The ideal candidate should be detailed oriented and have strong drive to learn network fundamentals. These skills obtained from mentorship from the EverLine OT Network Team and external training will be applied daily in support of our customer and internal systems.
- Monitor network performance and alert senior staff of any issues requiring attention on a daily basis
- Maintain network documentation accuracy and remove obsolete configurations
- Provide first-level technical support and troubleshooting for network-related problems on an L1 level
- Support senior engineers with project implementation and testing
- Configure switches, routers, and other network devices under supervision of EverLine’s Sr. Network Engineers
- Implement and verify security policies on next-generation firewall systems
- Maintain accurate network diagrams and technical documentation
Knowledge, Skills, abilities, and Other Personal Characteristics:
- Basic understanding of network protocols and network security principles
- Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls, and other network hardware (hands-on experience preferred but not required)
- Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Detail-oriented approach to documentation and configuration management
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and networking concepts
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 6 months to 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or related technical field
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs)
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Basic troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for equipment installation
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation after training period
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, or related field
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Cisco CCNA- Previous experience with network monitoring tools
- Knowledge of industrial control systems or OT environments
- Experience with ticketing systems and IT service management tools
- Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
The employee will work predominantly in an office environment, utilizing standard office and computing equipment. Standard work hours with an on-call rotation.
EverLine adheres to a hybrid work policy of 2 days a week onsite.
If working remotely, the employee will be required to support video teleconferencing when applicable, as well as attend teleconference meetings originating in other time zones, which may occur outside normal working hours. The employee will interface with remote employees, requiring reliance on email and phone communications, as well as ability to maintain productivity while working autonomously.
