Junior or Intermediate Drafter

Job Overview

We are seeking a junior or intermediate drafter / steel detailer to join the team at our fabrication shop, where we fabricate and install structural steel, stairs and miscellaneous steel. The successful applicant will use 3D CAD modelling to create 2D erection drawings and shop issue packages.

- Read blueprints and specifications to determine project requirements

- Prepare shop and erection drawings

- Use CAD software to create 3D models

- Design steel to steel connection details

- Create shop issue packages for fabrication

- Perform site visits to capture existing conditions & dimensions

- Prepare RFI’s and follow-up as necessary

- Examine drawings for conformity and errors

- Provide technical clarifications to shop and field personnel during fabrication and erection

- Work in both Metric and Imperial units

Qualifications

- College diploma in drafting and/or work experience in drafting/detailing

Requirements

- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, AutoCAD Advance Steel or similar

- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

- Excellent communication skills

- Familiar with Windows office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel

Job Information

- Full time, Monday-Friday

- In-office, no option for remote work

- Public transportation is available

Pay rate based on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
