Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and creative Junior Designer to join our dynamic landscape architecture team. As a Junior Designer, you will collaborate with senior designers and project managers to assist in the development of landscape design solutions for a variety of projects. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to grow their skills in landscape architecture and contribute to the creation of functional, aesthetically pleasing, and sustainable outdoor spaces.
Pay Range: $45k - $60k / year
Key Responsibilities:•Assist in the development of landscape design concepts, including site planning, plant selection, and material specification.
•Support senior designers in preparing design presentations, concept drawings, and technical documents.
•Produce detailed CAD drawings, 3D models, and other visualizations for project proposals and client presentations.
•Conduct site analysis, including assessing topography, climate, soil conditions, and other environmental factors to inform design decisions.
•Collaborate with other team members, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure the seamless integration of landscape designs into larger projects.
•Prepare and update project documents, such as planting plans, site layouts, and maintenance guidelines.
•Assist in managing project timelines, ensuring that all deliverables are met according to deadlines.
•Participate in client meetings and help translate their needs and preferences into design concepts.
•Stay up-to-date on landscape design trends, industry standards, and new technologies to bring fresh ideas to the team.
Qualifications:
•1-2 years of experience in landscape design or a related field (this includes internships or freelance experience)
•Proficiency in design software, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other 3D modeling or rendering software.
•Strong understanding of plant materials, horticulture, and sustainable design practices.
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work within a team environment.
•Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
•Knowledge of construction documentation and basic landscape construction techniques is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
•Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and landscape analysis tools.
•Experience with site grading and stormwater management.
•Knowledge of local zoning regulations and landscape codes.
•Experience using Vectorworks & Adobe Suite
