Position Summary

We’re looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team at Vee-Jay, a leading concrete contractor with over 60 years of success. This hands-on role blends construction cost tracking with general accounting support and is ideal for someone who values structure, consistency, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting Support

•

Enter and maintain project cost data in alignment with budgets

•

Assist with budget vs. actual tracking and reporting

•

Prepare cost data and backup for project reviews and internal reporting

•

Communicate with project managers to collect and clarify cost information

•

Support job cost team in reconciling field data to financial records

General Ledger & Staff Accounting

•

Prepare basic journal entries and reconciliations for controller review

•

Support business license and registration tracking/renewals

•

Process and track electronic check deposits

•

Assist with compiling documents for audits, budgets, and monthly close

•

Help maintain accuracy of accounting records and internal schedules

Administrative & Process-Oriented Tasks

•

Manually compare and reconcile physical documents with system data

•

Perform data entry and review across various tools (Excel, Vista, others)

•

Follow structured, detail-heavy processes that require accuracy and repetition

•

Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely, accurate execution of recurring task
