Golden Vertex Corp is a mining company based in Bullhead City, AZ, specializing in gold extraction. Golden Vertex, a subsidiary of Mako US Corp., operates the Moss Mine located in Mohave County in northwestern Arizona, approximately a one hour and a half drive south of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Overview

The Senior Accountant will be an integral part of the Accounting and Financial Reporting team, overseeing key accounting functions and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. Reporting to the Controller of Mako US Corp., the Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accounting records to support periodic financial closes and related consolidated financial reporting. Key aspects of this role include working closely with the finance team and partnering with cross-functional departments to ensure financial accuracy and maintain compliance.

Duties

•

Oversee and assist in the daily accounting and finance activities.

•

Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Canadian International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

•

Prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations for accounting balances and prepare accounting entries.

•

Assist with the preparation of internal monthly financial reports.

•

Assist with monthly financial analysis, budgeting, and cost control.

•

Prepare monthly intercompany reconciliations.

•

Maintain accurate and complete accounting records, ensuring a strong audit trail.

•

Providing necessary documentation and support to the Canadian Parent Company.

•

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and enhance financial reporting.

Assist with ad-hoc accounting, finance and administrative duties as required. The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.*

Requirements

•

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation required.

•

Minimum 5 years of experience within the mining or natural resources sector.

•

Direct experience with an operating mine is a significant asset.

•

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and working knowledge of IFRS.

•

Experience with ERP systems, such as MS Dynamics 365.

•

Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

•

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•

Effective problem-solving skills, ability to work both independently and in a team.
