About Your New Role

Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance, the Mechanic, Auto, will work with the Maintenance team and be responsible for providing mechanical support and expertise to all areas of the underground and surface operations. You will require a thorough knowledge of maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all types of light duty vehicles and equipment and the motivation to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision. You will use technical and practical knowledge, as well this position will follow instruction, utilize shop and assemble manuals.

Your Key Responsibilities

- Ensure projects are carried out meticulously, while meeting all budget and time constraints.

- Repairing the surface and underground mechanical equipment in a timely and financially responsible manner.

- Interpreting work orders and technical manuals.

- Responsible for maintenance, repair, and overhaul of light duty equipment.

- Responsible for troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.

- Determine extent of repair required.

- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.

- Test repaired equipment for proper performance.

- Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work.

- Responsible for giving direction and training to all level of mechanics as needed and other departments as required.

- Assist in the forecasting of parts.

- Responsible for making recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement.

Your Knowledge And Skills

- Posses strong electrical troubleshooting skills.

- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Accurately diagnose various vehicle problems independently is a must.

- Physically and mentally able to work underground if necessary.

- Work independently and in a team environment when required.

Your Education And Experience

The successful candidate will have:

- Journeyperson Automotive Certificate.

- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience.

About Our Working Conditions

This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
