Covia is looking for a highly motivated, skilled individual to fill the position of

Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic

at our Nepheline Syenite Operation located at the

Nephton

facility.

The candidate will be required to perform the following duties:

- Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and job requirements.

- Performs duties with a focus on safety, environmental compliance, and equipment reliability.

- Work both in a shop and field environment

- Work in a team environment with both co-workers and contractors as needed.

- Experience with troubleshooting and repairing Cat and John Deer Equipment

- Proficiency with general computer skills required to navigate diagnostic software as well as the site CMMS.

- Perform Preventative and Predictive maintenance activities on site heavy equipment.

- Inspects and examines equipment for defects and causes of failure

- Provides recommendations for equipment maintenance improvement to reduce equipment downtime and increase equipment reliability.

- Make decisions based on measurable information including acceptable tolerances.

- Weld, braze, solder and cut proficiently.

- Assists in the development of accurate equipment Bill of Materials

- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Hold a valid Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic journeyman ticket is required.
