The Opportunity

We are seeking a Lead Journeyman TIG Welder to serve as the cornerstone of our shop floor. In this critical role, you will be a hands-on leader, responsible for guiding projects from conception to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality, and fostering the skills of your fellow team members. This is an ideal position for a top-tier welder who excels at problem-solving and is ready to take on a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

•

Fabrication & Welding: Perform expert-level TIG welding on stainless steel and act as the go-to technical resource for complex projects. Read and interpret blueprints, fabricate, and assemble high-quality custom pieces.

Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, guide, and mentor a team of welders and fabricators, providing training, technical support, and constructive feedback to develop their skills.

•

Workflow Coordination: Plan and assign daily work to the fabrication team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Collaborate with management on project timelines and resource allocation.

•

Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control standards for all weldments and finished products. Perform final inspections to guarantee work meets and exceeds client specifications.

Problem-Solving: Act as the primary point of contact for resolving technical challenges and fabrication issues on the shop floor.

•

Safety & Organization: Champion a culture of safety by ensuring all protocols are followed. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment for the entire team.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:

•

Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience as a TIG welder, with mastery in stainless steel.

•

Proven experience in a leadership, supervisory, or mentorship role within a fabrication environment.

•

Expert-level ability to read and interpret complex fabrication blueprints and technical drawings.

•

Demonstrable expertise in custom fabrication: layout, fitting, and assembly of complex weldments.

•

Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing clean, high-quality, and visually appealing welds.

•

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.

•

Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage shop floor workflow.

•

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required

•

Must be able to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
