We currently seeking an individual to join our team as a LIVE-LINE Foreman - Power Line Technician (PLT), based out of our Grande Prairie, AB office.
Responsibilities:
•As a Journeyman Powerline Technician (PLT), you will perform activities related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of distribution infrastructure.
•As a Foreman you will coordinate/supervise a team consisting of PLTs, Equipment Operators, Apprentices, Labourers, and Subcontractors.
•Read and interpret electrical drawings and prints.
•Recognize, assess, and control potentially hazardous situations in the work environment. Ensure that the work area is kept safe and maintained with good housekeeping practices.
•Possess knowledge of industry standard safe working practices. Report near misses and investigate incidents.
•Maintain positive relationships with our clients and field representatives.
Requirements:
•Possess a valid Journeyman Power Line Technician Certificate.
•Proven experience in the powerline distribution construction standards and practices of at least one of the utility organizations in Alberta.
•Rubber Glove Certification
•Extensive experience and training in LIVE-LINE construction and maintenance practices/procedures.
•Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials to optimize productivity, minimize downtime, and achieve project milestones.
•Competent to monitor work progress and quality standards, conduct inspections and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure that production meets or exceeds project requirements.
•Excellent interpersonal, team participation, and communication skills
•Must be able to comfortably perform physical tasks (climbing, lifting 50 pounds, pulling cable etc), and work in all weather conditions.
•Willing to work away from home base as required
•Class 5 drivers license.
Nice to haves:
•Transmission experience is an asset.
•Class 1 or 3 license is an asset.
