Electric Journeyman Line Worker

CFU is currently recruiting for 3 full-time Electric Journeyman Line Workers to perform complex overhead and underground electrical work involved in the construction, maintenance and operation of the electric transmission and distribution systems. These individuals will also perform construction and maintenance of overhead and underground cable communications systems. CFU is looking for an individual who is safety-minded and enjoys working in a team environment.

The Electric Journeyman Line Worker works under general supervision of the Electric Construction & Line Supervisor.

Compensation & Benefits

Responsibilities:

Works with electric hot line equipment and tools.

Performs line maintenance and emergency work; climbs poles, installs hardware, connects transformer banks, fuses transformers, pulls wires, lays cable and other necessary work.

Ties in conductors and changes insulators; works on overhead and underground electric circuits; operates overhead and underground construction and maintenance equipment when necessary.

Keeps time and work records.

Participates in rotating on-call duty as assigned.

Performs tree trimming work and Line Crew Leader duties as assigned.

Installs communication conduit, messenger, and cable.

Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes positive relations with customers, co-workers and management.

This position requires a hearing exam and a pulmonary lung function test, which is required for respirator use. May be required to be fit-tested for use of a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
