Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic

Overview

Cross Country Canada Supplies & Rentals is actively recruiting a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Spruce Grove team. The successful candidate will have a strong desire for career growth and never-ending learning of a wide and growing array of pipeline heavy equipment and machinery. This position is for a candidate experienced with pipeline equipment & machinery and is responsible for performing all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Have a positive attitude for all aspects of equipment repairs and maintenance

- Have pride and confidence in workmanship and ensure that equipment is 100% work ready

- Work on a wide range of pipeline & construction equipment from small to large

- Willing to learn new products/equipment with enthusiasm

- Travel to customer sites within and outside of Alberta to provide troubleshooting and equipment repairs as needed

- Ability to document all aspects of day-to-day work i.e., workorders, parts requests, field service reports, etc.

- Being a team player, helping other departments as needed

- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

- Mentoring apprentices

- Enjoy having different daily challenges and tasks

- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with experience in pipeline and construction equipment is a must

- Experience with pipeline testing equipment is an asset

- CAT and John Deere experience is preferred

- Excavator, Dozer & Side-Boom knowledge is preferred

- Knowledge/experience is water pumps, generators & light towers

- Hydraulic/Electrical troubleshooting is an asset

- Engine experience a definite asset

- Valid Class 5 driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract

- Ability to work well with other staff and customers

- Active and motivated to work safely

- Pride in keeping a clean and orderly work zone

Working Conditions

- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs

- Working environment is indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

- Travel may be necessary

- Overtime and weekends may be required

Pay: $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 50 per week
