The Journeyman Electrician plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment by performing the duties below.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. •Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
•Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
•Measure, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduits.
•Terminate wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
•Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels.
•Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustment, relocation, or replacement.
•Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric devices or motors, and installs grounding leads.
•Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, toner, and oscilloscope.
•Ensure a safe work environment.
•Self-directed with minimal supervision.
•Demonstrate professional skills and abilities.
•Communicate daily status of current projects to the Superintendent to ensure all projects are timely, all materials for projects are on schedule for the on-time delivery date for the execution of said projects and within company standards.
•Comply with all guidelines, policies and procedures established by CCI while on shift, on call or attending meetings.
•Interacts directly with the Superintendents and Supervisors, to ensure that objectives are achieved, potential problems identified, and corrective actions are completed.
•Initiate problem solving when faced with challenges.
•Serve as a representative of the company, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions.
•Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
•Compliance with HSE Training required.
•Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
•Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
•Participating in safety meetings, work safely, and maintain a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
•Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
•Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA/JHA reviews, pre-job walk downs and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
•Promote and participate in Behavior Based Safety as well as programs that promote continuous improvements (CI).
•Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be deemed unsafe
•Attend and participate in required meetings, training, exercises and drills.
•Facilitating or participating in CCI safety meetings, work safely and maintain a safe work environment.
•Willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to safety
•Report all incidents immediately to immediate supervisor and HSE Specialist
•Document and record any injury or near-miss incident that may occur.
•Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
•UPS & Battery Experience Preferred
•Alaska Electrical Journeyman Fitness Card or an appropriate reciprocal fitness card from another state is required.
•Medium voltage experience with knowledge of power delivery systems is required
•Minimum five (5) years related experience is required:
•High school diploma or GED.
•A valid driver's license.
•Current NSTC card required for all North Slope positions
Work Environment:

•The position is on-call 24 hours/day while on shift. Flexibility regarding hours of work is required as needed to meet demands of the job. Position may be reassigned at any time to meet operational objectives.
•Position may be exposed to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors.
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction site. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
•Position may be working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.
•The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee’s ability to perform to the job standard. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
•MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet. Frequent walking and standing. Occasional keyboard use, sitting, bending, twisting, and reaching.
•HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
•VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
•LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift 50 pounds from floor to waist, 30 pounds from waist level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
•RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
