Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. Reporting to the Joint Venture Manager, the Joint Venture Representative is responsible for the commercial and technical stewardship of both operated and non-operated Joint Venture (JV) assets.
Working closely with internal teams and external partners, this role is critical to maintaining strong industry relationships while maximizing the commercial value of Tamarack’s infrastructure and production assets.
The role requires a strategic mindset, strong negotiation skills, and a solid understanding of JV agreements and production operations. The JV Representative plays a key role in unlocking future development opportunities and optimizing Tamarack’s position across our asset base.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners (operated/non-operated, third-party, plants, pipelines, units).
- Support Production Operations and Field Staff in day-to-day JV matters and liaise with partners.
- Advise asset teams and internal departments on JV-related matters.
- Understand partner strategies, competitor analysis and drilling activities, to identify risks and opportunities for Tamarack.
- Collaborate with Development Team to optimize infrastructure investment, secure facility access, and support development activity.
- Identify and negotiate opportunities to attract third-party production to Tamarack-operated facilities.
- Analyze commercial terms and project economics to guide negotiations and decision-making.
- Lead and support negotiations for complex commercial agreements and evaluate commercial merit of existing JV arrangements and propose enhancements where applicable.Specific skills and experience for this individual would include:
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business, Accounting, or Land, with 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum 5 years of direct Joint Venture experience, ideally within oil and gas.
- Exceptional communication skills—including full command of written and spoken English.
- Experience with business tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, StackDX, and Petrinex.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- Experience with A&D evaluations and integrating JV considerations into growth strategies is an asset.
