The Customer Acquisition Associate is responsible for managing all inbound phone calls, building customer relationships, and converting leads into in-yard visits and scrap metal purchases for the company. This role plays a critical part in driving revenue by providing excellent customer service, accurately quoting prices, and coordinating the sales process from the initial phone call to the successful acquisition of scrap metal. This position is customer focused, fast paced, and requires a general knowledge of or the ability to learn scrap metal grades, and scrap procurement software.

Answer all inbound phone calls promptly and professionally.
Qualify customer inquiries and identify opportunities to purchase scrap metal.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers.
Track all leads and ensure timely follow-up to secure material purchases.
Provide accurate and competitive pricing based on market trends and company guidelines.
Convert inbound leads into successful scrap metal transactions.
Meet or exceed individual acquisition and conversion goals (calls-to-yard visits).
Continuously improve product knowledge of metals, pricing trends, and industry regulations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a positive experience.
Educate customers on acceptable materials, grading, and pricing structures.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues professionally and efficiently.
Coordinate with yard staff and transportation teams to ensure smooth material pickups and deliveries.
Capture and record accurate customer information and lead details in the company’s CRM or call tracking system.
Prepare sales reports, lead status updates, and performance metrics.
Assist with order processing, invoices, and follow-up communications.
Stay updated on scrap metal market trends and competitor pricing.
Provide feedback and suggestions to management for improving customer satisfaction and call efficiency.

Prior experience in sales, customer service, or scrap/recycling industry strongly preferred.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and basic data entry.
Knowledge of scrap metal grading, recycling processes, and pricing (preferred but can be trained).
Ability to work standing or sitting for extended periods of time in an office environment
Ability to occasionally move objects up to 25 pounds
Ability to perform repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
