POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a versatile IT professional responsible for the administration of enterprise computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure while providing high-level end-user support. This role requires a blend of advanced systems administration, network management, and hands-on desktop support. The successful candidate will maintain organizational policies, manage inventory, ensure security compliance, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Infrastructure Administration: Responsible for the administration of enterprise computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure. Manage and maintain routers, network switches, wireless access points, firewalls, security gateways, and spam appliances.
End-User Support: Provide comprehensive support for desktop systems, MS Office, printer support, and phone systems. Assist clients with hardware/software service and application issues.
Troubleshooting & Resolution: Identify, diagnose, and rectify all advanced hardware/software issues with clients, printers, systems, and network devices. Troubleshoot, research, and escalate technical issues.
Process & Documentation: Assist in development and maintenance of policies, processes, procedures, and best practices. Monitor ticketing system and ensure proper ticket creation and documentation of the resolution process. Maintain internal IT documentation.
Inventory & Procurement: Manage inventory of infrastructure hardware and licensing. Research/obtain quotes for PCs, hardware, misc. items as needed by I.T. Maintain organization of the storage room.
Security & Maintenance: Maintaining, configuring, updating, and monitoring virus protection software, email filtering applications, phone systems, and firewalls. Manage malware removal, prevention, and anti-virus.
System Operations: Build, maintain, and install systems and software. Manage LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, and patch management. Oversee Microsoft Exchange, MS Office 365, Exchange Cloud Services, IMAP, POP3 servers, NAS, SAN, iSCSI, machine virtualization, and backup/archive systems.
Research & Development: Expand current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions. Research various topics as IT requires (note: not all topics may be IT industry-related; some may be general information IT requires for a project). Research new software or other data as needed by projects.
Travel: Travel to other locations to help work on computer systems.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL SKILLS
Operating Systems: Extensive experience with Windows operating systems. Must understand processes, security, local accounts vs. domain accounts, profiles, services, etc.
Directory & Email Services: Experience with Active Directory, Exchange, account creation, and basic maintenance. Proficiency with MS Active Directory, IMAP and POP3 servers, and SSL certificates.
Hardware & Desktop Support: Experience with Desktop repair/installation. Knowledge of main internal components of a system, replacement of these parts; ability to install software, operating systems, drivers, etc.
Networking: Basic Networking (IP/Ethernet) proficiency – IP Addresses, subnets, VLAN.
Scripting & Automation: PowerShell and/or other scripting knowledge. Experience with imaging, data recovery, automation, and sysprep.
Security Tools: Malware management, removal, prevention, anti-virus.
Telecommunications: Supporting IP Office, VoIP, and/or phone system configuration.
Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience researching and managing peripherals, adapters, other tools, and software as requested.
Associate's/Bachelor's in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
3–5+ years IT systems administration and end-user support
Certifications: CompTIA, Microsoft Certified, or equivalent (preferred)
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Able to work in a fast-paced company with strict deadlines.
Ability to maintain organization of physical spaces (e.g., storage room) and manage equipment logistics.
Occasional travel to off-site locations may be required.
