IT Systems Engineer

Job Description

The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network and server infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting complex network issues, ensuring server reliability, and optimizing system performance. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

- Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks.

- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect network and server infrastructure.

- Perform regular system backups, disaster recovery planning, and data protection measures.

- Collaborate with other IT teams to support enterprise applications and cloud services.

- Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for internal knowledge sharing.

- Assist with capacity planning, performance tuning, and system upgrades.

- Provide technical support for escalated IT issues related to networking and server infrastructure.

- Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices to improve IT infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- 1-2 years of experience in network and server administration.

- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and routing.

- Experience with Windows server & AD administration.

- Experience with Office 365 [Exchange/Entra/Teams/etc.] Administration

- Experience with VMware vSphere Standard/Enterprise +

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

This position is required to report in office.

- Experience with network monitoring tools and automation scripts.

- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
