This job is 100% onsite at our facility in Roanoke, Texas. However occasionally travel to remote locations as needed to support project work may be required (15% of less).
The IT Support Technician position requires an enthusiastic, dependable, and reliable individual who has previous Tier 1 support experience (1.5 years min.). Customer focused, the successful individual must be polite, approachable, and able to keep calm under pressure in addition to being willing to learn new technology skills. The ideal candidate must be flexible, with a positive, can-do, make-it-happen attitude. The candidate must also work well within a geographically dispersed team of users and vendors.
· Escalating IT issues to the relevant teams where necessary
· Taking ownership through the full lifecycle of any tickets which are escalated to development teams or 3rd parties
· Liaise with other members of the IT Operations, Internal Development Teams and 3rd parties to resolve issues
· Setting up and configuring new Laptops, Desktops and Mobile Devices
· Completing internal user moves (including phones and patching)
· Setting up new users and disabling expired accounts in accordance with HR requirements (new hires & terminations)
· Imaging and maintenance of shared laptop fleet for customers
· Providing basic administrative server support (password reset, access rights etc.)
· Creation / Maintenance of internal IT documentation
· Strong ability to work independently and is organized
· All positions will require, to some degree, the physical abilities described below to perform the essential functions of the job
· Work the expected hours, consistently arrive at work at the agreed time and follow Company rules and guidelines regarding breaks and meal periods.
· Communicate effectively, both oral (in person and on the phone) and in writing.
· Use of tablets and computers in various IT systems
· Use keyboard or equivalent equipment, to access the computer,
· Use hands to manipulate documents and general paperwork to view contents
· Communicate effectively using the telephone, email, and instant messaging
· Move around and through all work areas as needed, may include climbing stairs or ladders
o Regularly sit at assigned locations/desk for up to 8 hours per day with allowable breaks
o Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (i.e. books, reports, binders, etc), OR if IT related lift up to 50 pounds in IT equipment individually
· For Operations, Warehouse, & Lab based roles:
o Lift, push, and move up to 75 pounds individually and up to 150 pounds as a team
· The hourly rate of pay for this role will be between $24.00 and $26.00 per hour. Overtime will be paid at the legally required rate. A certain amount of overtime maybe expected each week but will vary from week to week.
· Benefits will be available to all full time employees. Full time is typically considered to be 40 hours per week (but must consistently work 30 hours minimum per week over any consecutive eight week period).
