Job Summary/Purpose
Delta Utilities is seeking an IT Support Engineer, who plays a crucial role in implementing and maintaining Delta Utilities’ technology infrastructure. They provide technical assistance to end-users, ensuring smooth operations and resolving any issues related to hardware, software, cloud, and network systems.
Technical Support
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS•Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, or in person.
•Diagnose, troubleshooting and resolve user access issues, hardware and software problems, cyber security incidents, and cloud technology issues.
•Install, configure, and upgrade computer systems, peripherals, software and cloud-based applications. Coordinate with remote support teams.
•Provide guidance on best practices for using technology effectively.
•Track requests, issues and activities using a ticketing system. Provide status of ticket and issue resolution to users and management.
Network Management
•Monitor network performance and address connectivity issues.
•Set up and manage network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
•Set up and manage secure connections the company’s cloud providers and work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and access issues.
•Ensure data security and compliance with company policies.
Software Maintenance
•Install, update, and maintain operating systems and software applications.
•Assist users with software installations and license management.
•Troubleshoot software compatibility issues.
•Work with cloud provider and SaaS vendors to troubleshoot and support users in accessing the software.
Hardware Maintenance
•Repair or replace faulty hardware components (e.g., RAM, hard drives, motherboards).
•Maintain inventory of hardware assets.
•Coordinate with vendors for warranty repairs.
User Training And Documentation
•Conduct training sessions for employees on technology usage.
•Assist with the development of company IT Policies and Procedures.
•Create and update user manuals and documentation.
•Educate users on cybersecurity best practices.
Security And Data Protection
•Implement security protocols (firewalls, antivirus software, encryption).
•Monitor for security breaches and respond promptly.
•Backup critical data and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place.
Collaboration And Communication
•Work closely with other IT team members and departments as well as, vendors, sub-contractors and consultants.
•Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
•Participate in IT projects and technology implementations and upgrades.
Continuous Learning
•Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies.
•Obtain relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Microsoft Certifications, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals).
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
•Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
•Preferred: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Minimum Experience Required Of The Position
•1+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a similar technical support role.
•If no prior IT support experience, applicants with an IT-related degree, certifications, or internship experience will be strongly considered.
•Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in a professional environment.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Preferred Of The Position
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Excellent communication and customer service skills.
•Familiarity with Windows, mobile (iOS/Android), and Linux operating systems.
•Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and basic networking concepts.
•Knowledge of Microsoft O365 and related products and services.
Any Certificates, Licenses, Etc. Required For The Position
•CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Certified, or Azure Fundamentals are a plus.
Physical Requirements
•Able to operate a motor vehicle, including the ability to enter and exit vehicle unassisted.
•Able to perform on-site inspections.
•Able to sit for extended periods of time.
•Able to exert up to 50 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.

•Job duties are performed in a normal and clean office environment with normal noise levels but may occasionally need to travel to remote locations.
•Work is predominately done while standing or sitting.
•Able to work regular hours, with occasional overtime.
•This role may require occasional travel between office locations within New Orleans, LA or Baton Rouge, LA or remote support for field staff. On-call availability may be required for critical issues.
•Able to respond to emergency calls and/or callouts and occasionally return to work while off duty.
•May be required to remain in the service area during emergency events and assume responsibilities assigned by the company to aide in restoration efforts.
