Position Summary:
Develop and implement Information Technology (IT) strategies aligned with the company’s business goals and in situ mining operations. Evaluate emerging IT technologies and provide recommendations for their integration into the mining processes.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor IT team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Design, deploy, and manage robust IT infrastructure, including servers, networks and storage systems, and troubleshoot as needed.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of IT systems to support continuous mining operations.
- Implement and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity measures to protect critical data and systems.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Oversee the management of large volumes of data generated by in situ mining operations.
- Lead and manage IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align IT initiatives with business objectives.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for IT systems and applications.
- Demonstrate a knowledgeable ability to troubleshoot IT software.
- Develop and maintain documentation for processes, systems, and procedures.
- Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and manage contract scopes of work and oversee the procurement of IT hardware and software.
- Maintain and troubleshoot communication equipment.
- Lead procurement of IT supplies and spare parts.
- Ensure junior staff has the tools and software necessary to assist in the completion of the above tasks.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance the technical skills of the IT team and other stakeholders.
- Design and manage daily and on-call schedule for team(s).
- Conduct scheduled review sessions with junior staff on performance.
- Provide reports to upper management on key parameters and status of ongoing projects.
- The position involves both office work and outdoor work with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must work in compliance with the Florence Copper (OSHA) site safety program.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in the plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as needed.
- On Call availability 24x7x365.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (6 years) training in relevant field
- Must maintain valid driver license.
- Minimum of 5 years of combined IT experience.
- Ability to read and update P&ID drawings and schematics.
- Experience maintaining SQL relational database software, preferably MS SQL Server.
- Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting ethernet and wireless networks for local and remote connectivity.
- Experience supervising IT or process control team members.
- Technical aptitude with low voltage circuits.
