IT Applications Analyst - Real-Time Systems & Operations Platforms

WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an IT Applications Analyst supporting real-time operational systems in our Pewaukee, Wisconsin location. This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the Pewaukee office.

This position is part of a job family (Associate IT Applications Analyst, IT Applications Analyst, and Senior IT Applications Analyst) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

The IT Applications Analyst position will support our mission-critical, real-time operational platforms. The Applications Analyst will work closely with operations teams, field personnel, and business stakeholders to maintain accurate configurations and system modeling information within the enterprise operational applications.

Responsibilities include the development, support, and quality control of application user interfaces, system data points, real-time data integrations, configuration logic, alerting frameworks, operational data accounting, and network system models. They also discover and analyze issues with application configuration, data integrity, system integrations, and communications with connected field systems as necessary.

Job Responsibilities

- Supports computer systems, software applications, databases and tools. Analyzes error conditions, identifies potential causes of problems, utilizes root cause analysis techniques, and looks for multiple solutions and expedites resolution.

- Identifies, implements, and maintains key performance and process metrics to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, procedures and applications.

- Designs, modifies, develops, implements, and tests application and system configurations.

- Writes/reviews documentation to describe system configuration processes, business logic, and test plans. Writes/reviews manuals for users.

- Designs, develops and maintains plans related to data integrity, system reliability, and consistency.

- Acts as a liaison between various groups, such as operations and field support teams, Database Administration, Network Support, and Computer Operations.

- Develops implementation plans for individual or small group tasks and small to medium projects. Accountable for developing scope, estimation, and tracking time and resources expended on projects.

- Performs on-call responsibilities as part of an on-call rotation.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field. In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, successful completion of a certified Application Development Apprenticeship will also be considered.

This position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience with application support

- PowerShell, .NET C# experience

- Security patch management and software deployment knowledge

- Computer networks experience

- Strong customer service skills to act as a liaison between IT and business client

- Ability to present technical information to non-technical users both in small and large group

- Ability to understand technical environments to support real-time or mission-critical operational systems

- Ability to collect and analyze data in order to figure out the root cause for issues

Pay Range Minimum: $66,898.00

Pay Range Maximum: $132,708.94

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
