The
Internal Corrosion Engineerprovides corrosion control services and engineering support with a primary focus on asset integrity while also maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements for Midstream assets. In addition, they will provide technical support for field-based corrosion control activities and work cross-functionally with operations, integrity, and project teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable pipeline operations.
Responsibilities May Include
+ Developing, implementing, and optimizing chemical injection programs, including corrosion inhibitors, oxygen scavengers, and biocides. + Providing technical support during design, commissioning, and operation of chemical injection systems and corrosion monitoring equipment. + Collaborating with chemical suppliers and field operations to ensure effective chemical treatments for gas gathering pipelines. + Monitoring and analyzing chemical performance through the evaluation of sample results and performance metrics, adjusting programs as necessary to optimize efficacy. + Supporting field operations to improve hydrate management program by optimizing methanol usage and implementation of kinetic hydrate inhibitors.
+ Developing pipeline pigging plans in collaboration with field operations. Supporting and monitoring execution of the pigging schedules to ensure safe execution, minimizing operational disruptions. + Collaborating with chemical suppliers and field operations to coordinate pigging schedules with chemical treatment activities. + Reviewing pigging & sample results to evaluate program performance and identify corrosion threats.
+ Analyzing corrosion data, such as coupons, sampling analyses, and inline inspection (ILI) reports, to identify trends and potential internal corrosion risks and making recommendations for corrective actions based on findings. + Working with field teams to assess and optimize placement of corrosion monitoring devices to ensure effectiveness. + Troubleshooting and recommending corrective actions for oxygen-related issues, including chemical treatment adjustments or system modifications to reduce sources of oxygen ingress. + Maintaining documentation and the internal corrosion database to facilitate program evaluations, KPI reporting, and ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
+ Developing, maintaining, and providing technical support for the internal corrosion control policies, procedures, standards and specifications. Assuring these documents keep abreast of changes in industry practices and regulations while providing technically competent and operationally feasible requirements. + Driving consistent internal corrosion control practices throughout Midstream. + Participating in industry committees such as PRCI, NACE, API, SSPC, etc. + Evaluating new technologies related to internal corrosion control. + Providing support for corporate or regulatory audits and technical expertise for development of any mitigative actions relative to audit findings
Midstream
The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. Our capabilities include extensive natural gas gathering and processing operations, enhancing our wellhead-to-market strategy. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
