Description
Primary Function: The IT Intern will work with the Configuration Specialist and Service Desk Team to support end users by providing appropriate day-to-day assistance to resolve minor and non-complex technical issues. This includes assisting with the installation of new hardware, software, setting up new laptops and mobile devices, remediating account lockouts, replacing employee workstations, and resetting user passwords. The IT Intern will also assist with problem resolution through hands-on support to end users.
Duties And Responsibilities
•Assist with responding to day-to-day service requests.
•Assist with the deployment of new hardware, software, and mobile devices
•Assist with the management of Active Directory and Office 365 accounts
•Assist with new employee hardware setup
•Assist with preparing hardware for laptop/mobile device refreshes
•Assist with the management of mobile devices using Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution
•Assist with the troubleshoot routine hardware and software issues and provide resolutions to end users
•Provide remote support to field employees
•Support inventory control and tracking tasks with direction from the Configuration Specialist
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
•Knowledge of computer applications and functions including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
•Knowledge of Service Desk operations would.
•Good oral and written communication skills.
•Excellent customer service skills.
•Ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
•Ability to diagnose PC hardware/software problems and document solutions.
•Ability to perform in a detail-oriented environment with a high level of accuracy.
•Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision.
•Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
•Ability to work in a team environment.
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Education And Experience
•High School degree plus six (6) months of directly related experience OR current college student in a technical degree program (e.g., Computer Science, Information Management, Cybersecurity, etc.).
•Active Directory, Office 365, and Mobile Device Management is preferred.
•Entry-level Operating System, Server, and Networking certifications are preferred.
Additional
•Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Physical Demands
Duties are performed in an office environment.
•Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
•The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
•Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
•The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers and clients. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
•Travel between local offices expected to be up to 20% of the time.
