The role of the Customer Outreach Specialist is to provide financial assistance information to customers and to conduct the intake process at community events and payment centers throughout South Jersey Gas service territory. The Outreach Department will provide information of the following programs LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program), USF (Universal Service Fund), NJ Shares, PAGE and LIFELINE. They will work alongside various department such as Energy Efficiency and 811 to better bring information to our customers. There are various means of outreach to share information with our customer base including grass roots outreach, partnerships, marketing communications, social media outreach and individualized customer level outreach. This role is a brand ambassador for the company and is a valuable resource to the communities we serve.
- Attending Outreach Events to assist and input customer Energy Assistance USF/HEA applications
- Regular/recurring visits to Customer Service Walk-In Centers to assist and input customer Energy Assistance USF/HEA applications
- Collaboration with both Outreach Specialists and in house Energy Assistance departments on targeted outreach initiatives
- Manage and respond to internal and external requests
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support day-to-day activities
- Track monitor metrics pertaining to programs and intake rates
- Participate in team meetings, presenting data, stats and/or issues.
- Required to travel to events in service territory.
- Basic knowledge of Energy Assistance Programs (USF/HEA)
- Bilingual preferred
- Knowledge/Experience of CRM application portal not necessary but preferred
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or;
- • Master’s degree with 0 years of relevant experience.
- • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
