Job Description Overview:
The I&E Shop Technician Lead is responsible for leadings and mentoring a team of I&E shop technicians in the repair, maintenance, and assembly of panel equipment repairs. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of panels while meeting quality and performance standards. I&E Shop Technician Lead is responsible for directing and coaching their team to complete work efficiently and meet project deadlines. As a “working lead” position, this person will be required to work alongside team members in the panel shop.
Responsibilities Essential Duties:
+ Leading, mentoring, and developing technicians of I&E technicians and shop personnel. + Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. + Maintenance and Repair: + Plan and schedule equipment repairs, maintenance, and calibration activities within the shop. + Ensure timely completion of tasks while maintaining quality standards. + Maintain a clean and organized shop at all times to ensure it is presentable for visitors and safe for employees. + Diagnose and oversee the repair and maintenance of a wide range of electrical and instrumentation equipment. + Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide guidance to technicians. + Supervise work on and around high-voltage equipment with 480- and 4160-volt systems as well as supervise runouts in the mechanical shop. + Construct electrical panel boxes by assembling wiring, switches, and cables
+ Provide Guidance and training to team members. + Serve as a resource to help team members be successful in their roles; assist them to remove barriers to their success. + Work with Shop Manager to ensure all projects are being completed efficiently and according to schedule. + Ensure that team members complete tasks in accordance with company’s quality, production, and safety standards. + Trouble-shoot and resolve problems as necessary; communicate appropriately with affected team members and departments + Handle job flow for orders from Controls & Field Service Department + Foster a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement within the department.
+ Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. + Promote a culture of safety and provide training as needed.
+ Ensure the smooth running of the shop, shop organization, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
