Department Overview

The Coworkers of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.

Position Summary

The Inspection Review Specialist examines and reviews the findings and data from asset inspection activities regarding alignment to safety, maintenance and compliance guidelines. Incumbents identify trends in the findings of other personnel, prepare reports and recommendations and validate determinations regarding which maintenance work needs to be completed.

The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and assigned location, subject to change per business needs.

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $51.92 to $87.50

Job Responsibilities

- Serves as the subject matter expert (SME), providing oversight and guidance on more complex notification field scenarios and working on ad-hoc or special requests for new or re-evaluation of existing LC or EC notifications.

- Reviews completed inspection forms, attached pictures, maps and other information submitted from inspectors in company systems (such as SAP, Trifacta, Sherlock) to analyze and evaluate the inspector’s conclusions.

- Returns incomplete records to originator or Supervisor for correction and ensures all records and findings are maintained for potential future audits.

- Directs internal inspection quality audit efforts. Develops reports describing audit findings, observations, and trends, and presents findings and makes recommendations to management.

- Develops job aids and guidance documents related to new or revised standards or work procedures, including providing training to Sr. Inspection Review Specialists and field inspectors.

- Reviews, approves and releases staging notifications, corrective notifications and orders submitted by inspectors, based on the priority of work tasks.

- Assists in the review of notifications validated by new Specialists for accuracy and quality, trains and mentor’s new employees, and assists others using established processes, practices, and procedures, and acts as a lead for contractors or supplemental internal resources.

- Identifies process improvement opportunities and leads the implementation of approved projects, working with peers to develop and improve processes.

- Performs quality assurance reviews, as applicable, based on the EC/LC field condition and/or any issues with the information provided from the originating inspector.

- Assists Supervisor in evaluating metric results and outliers and provides back-up support for the Supervisor.

- Travel required 15% of the time

Qualifications

Minimum:

- High School Degree or GED

- 7 years job-related utility industry experience

- 6 months of experience as a Senior Inspection Review Specialist or job-related experience

Desired:

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Remote Sensing

- 12 months Infrared Thermography Experience

- Level 1 Thermography Certification

- Level 2 Thermography Certification

- Level 3 Thermography Certification

- UViagrapher Certification

- Electric Journeyman utility experience, 8 years

- 4+ years engineering or remote sensing experience

- 18 months of experience as a Senior Inspection Review Specialist (CIRT) or

- 12 months of experience as a Senior Inspection Review Specialist (AIR+)

- Experience working in SAP CIRT/Gatekeeper screen – ZGATEKEEPER/ZTGATEKEEPER, ZNOTIF, ZNMTN.

- Master knowledge and understanding of relevant federal, state, and local construction codes and standards, and PG&E construction standards, bulletins and guidance documents.

- Ability to build strong working relationships and to communicate effectively with employees and managers.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Exchange, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the electric asset preventative maintenance tasks including patrol and inspection.

- Strong analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills.

- Ability to lead and manage projects.

- Ability to train and mentor employees.
