Innovation Engineer Co-Op

SUMMARY:

Assist the Innovation and Product Engineering teams in the brainstorming, designing, testing and developing of innovative product solutions.

RESPONSIBILITES:

- Research, design and develop product solutions that effectively meet customer needs and create value for A.Y. McDonald and our customers.

- Work effectively in cross functional Innovation and Engineering teams.

- Be a contributor to company product innovation strategy and solutions.

- Listen to, evaluate, and react to the needs and feedback of the customer.

- If feedback warrants it, adjust, discard, and/or re-invent projects and product solutions effectively before excess resources are invested.

- Participate in brainstorming sessions and develop innovative solutions; and track project status.

- Effectively balance multiple projects per company priority schedule.

- Assist in vetting projects from the three (3) year new product road map to finalize the project list for the next year’s new product roadmap.

- Effectively model in 3D utilizing Creo-Pro Engineer.

- Design and gather prototypes for Market and functional testing.

- Conduct experiments to obtain relevant results.

- Review, interpret, convey and react to results effectively and accurately.

- Work with Product Engineering, Sales and Marketing staff to assure successful project handoff resulting in effective product shaping and release documentation.

- Understand and execute confidentiality boundaries of A.Y. McDonald information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or related program. Must be in good academic standing with the College or University and demonstrate an ability to learn quickly, work well independently and in a team environment, and on multiple projects.

Must have ability to:

- Effectively use 3D modeling software

Research materials and concepts
