Bridge Brothers is seeking a Lead Industrial Painter to oversee the preparation, painting, and finishing of steel and aluminum pedestrian bridges and structures. This position is both hands-on and supervisory—the Lead Painter will perform coating work while also managing the paint team, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within specifications, and in alignment with company safety and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of industrial coatings, a proven ability to organize and lead teams, and the drive to build and grow the department as Bridge Brothers continues to expand.
- Supervise and lead the paint team, assigning daily tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to build a skilled and efficient paint department.
- Oversee surface preparation, mixing, and application of coatings including epoxy, zinc, and other high-performance systems.
- Operate and maintain airless spray equipment and related tools.
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
- Track and report on paint usage and inventory needs; notify management of supply requirements.
- Maintain and enforce safety standards, including PPE usage and OSHA compliance.
- Coordinate with production leadership to plan and prioritize work schedules to meet deadlines.
- Support continuous improvement by recommending and implementing process, equipment, or training improvements.
- Cross-train in other departments as needed to support overall production goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Minimum 2 years of industrial painting experience (2-part epoxy, zinc coatings, or other high-performance coatings).
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage people and processes.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Self-sufficient, motivated, and committed to high standards of quality and safety.
- Willingness to work outside of scheduled hours when needed.- 5+ years of industrial painting experience.
- NACE or SSPC certifications highly desired.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, full-time
- Overtime: As needed
- Employment Type: Non-exempt, hourly
- Benefits: Eligible after 90 days (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, and paid holidays)
- Work Environment: Industrial fabrication facility with exposure to paint fumes, loud noise, and heavy machinery. PPE is provided and required.
