As an Industrial Hygienist, you will be an integral part of our Industrial Hygiene (IH) team supporting the Refining & Supply Operations. Industrial Hygiene (IH) plays a crucial role in ensuring that our operations remain safe for our employees. As the Industrial Hygienist within our Environmental, Health and Safety team your goal will be to work with a dynamic and cross functional team to provide Industrial Hygiene services to a refinery with diverse work groups. You will support the development and implementation of programs that focus on reducing health risks of the refinery workforce. You will be required to evaluate exposure to hazardous substances in the workplace and apply different equipment and technology to conduct exposure monitoring and area surveys. Your Responsibilities:* Support the Implementation of Industrial Hygiene Exposure Assessment Strategy
•Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) by providing technical expertise and advice on Health Hazards and applicable standards
•Support processes, programs, and systems to recognize, evaluate, and control chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic hazards in a large refining facility
•Use electronic database to manage Industrial Hygiene data ensuring data quality
•Oversee the completion of qualitative and quantitative workplace assessments and recommend corrective actions
•Use and maintain a variety of Industrial Hygiene equipment, understand their maintenance and security
•Support the development and implementation of exposure control tools, e.g. exposure control projects; industrial ventilation planning, PPE selection and utilization
•Provide IH support in non-routine maintenance activity i.e., Turnaround and other major projects
•Provide emergency response support in the management of hazardous substance
•Support the implementation of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) requirements
•Support the implementation of various safety and health awareness programs to promote the wellbeing of the workforce

Your Experience:* Post-secondary education in science, engineering, or equivalent experience
•Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene or related health and safety field is an advantage
•Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)/Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) designation is required
•Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial environment with at least 3 years in a directly related industrial hygiene role
•Experience in the oil and gas industry is a definite asset
