About the Job:
We are seeking an Hourly Industrial Hygienist Technician to support health and safety programs at the Coeur Rochester Operation. This role involves monitoring and evaluating workplace environmental conditions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and working with site leadership to enhance employee health and safety.
Responsibilities:
•Health, Industrial Hygiene compliance (State, Federal, and Corporate requirements)
•Establishing professional relationships with all workers at the site to promote a health and safety consciousness throughout the workforce.
•Implementation of corporate occupational health and industrial hygiene programs in the industrial setting to recognize, assess, eliminate, and control occupational health hazards and diseases:
•Collects samples of dust, metals, gases, vapors, and other potentially toxic materials for analysis and reporting using approved methods.
•Completes data analysis, reports, and makes recommendations based on data trends.
•Determines effectiveness of engineering control methods and makes recommendations regarding location, design, structure, operations, and maintenance of contaminant and physical agent control systems.
•Investigates adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions which may affect employee health, ergonomics, and overall efficiency.
•Conducts evaluations of exposure to radiation, lighting, and noise and develops control measures to ensure maximum employee protection.
•Works closely and cooperatively with the Corporate Occupational Health Specialist.
•Coordinate planned maintenance and calibration of all site Industrial Hygiene related equipment
•Assists in the development of OH/IH and safety related topics for MSHA annual refresher, contractor training, new and experienced miner training.
•Addresses employee and contractor health and safety inquiries and regulatory concerns.
•Participates in the Disaster Management & Recovery and/or Site Emergency Response programs and drills as requested.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
•Assist with new hire and mine rescue training
•Ability to train contractors and complete necessary documentation
•Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
•Possess effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; display exceptional customer service
•Have strong organizational skills
•Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools
•Must have valid driver's license
•Preferred – Three (3) years of surface mining experience
•Preferred – Previous experience in industrial hygiene, health and safety including internships
•Preferred – Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements
•Self-directed and able to take leadership role on many projects
•Work in all conditions and environments, approximately 50% of job is outdoors
•Able to lift 50 lbs. on an occasional basis
•Able to walk up and down slopes, stairs, catwalks and uneven ground daily
•Must be able to perform normal lifting, walking and climbing stairs around the mine site
Additional Information:
•Hourly Rate Range: $26.53-34.95 (DOE)
•Quarterly bonus up to $4,100 (up to $16,400 annually)

•Bus service from Fallon, Lovelock and Winnemucca
