Industrial Designer

Industrial Designer. Oil Patch Group, Inc., Houston, TX. Meet & collaborate w/management to conceptualize & develop new, redesigned & improved oilfield parts focusing on (a) the mechanical redesign of essential components including hydraulic valves & high pressure parts, (b) to develop improved/modified oilfield equipment for fabrication to meet project needs; & (c) to create/redesign modular offices/site living quarters; identify management requirements & critical needs for each project contemplating oilfield operations, risks, safety, efficiency, sustainability, manufacturing costs & following API 6A, ISO 9001 & OSHA standards; schedule design reviews, measuring and managing design progress for management; incorporate any changes, modifications or improvements; utilizing industry approved CAD programs, produce sketches, prototypes & visualization models to create conceptual designs w/in project scope focusing on design solutions for oilfield challenges for usability and safety; utilizing CAD technology, develop new, redesigned & improved oilfield parts focusing on hydraulic valves and high pressure parts & equipment used in well servicing (Frac Stacks, Coil Units & Drill Outs) from concept design at submission to project completion; produce deliverables in the form of 3D models & “manufacturing-ready” engineering drawings to create concise graphic representations of processes & quality procedures for each step of the new, redesigned & improved process; establish project design templates, design options, hyperlinking for each step of design process, fully maximize digital modeling using various CAD programs to achieve results, facilitate prototyping, theme development for the project and integration; near completion, timely identify & communicate final design options to management & participate in the technical review of the work for incorporation & approval; and participate as needed in the redesign and manufacturing process including providing digital presentations to clients. Req a US Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design or a foreign degree equiv to a US 4 yr Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design & 36 mos exp: 12 mos oil field worker installing equipment/making repairs/maintenance & 24 mos industrial designer utilizing CAD to produce sketches/prototypes/3D 2D designs in manufacturing mode for production.
