Hydrovac Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating hydrovac excavation equipment to safely and efficiently expose underground utilities, perform site investigations, and assist with various construction projects. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and construction site experience will be essential in ensuring project success and maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities

- Operate hydrovac trucks and related heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks to perform excavation tasks.

- Safely excavate around underground utilities and infrastructure using high-pressure water jets and vacuum systems.

- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.

- Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites, including the placement of safety barriers and signage.

- Collaborate with team members to execute horizontal drilling, paving, and other construction activities as needed.

- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, incident reports, and equipment maintenance logs.

- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for everyone on site.

Qualifications

- Must have atleast 2 years of Hydrovac experience.

- Class A CDL required.

- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, or dump trucks in a construction setting.

- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.

- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent required for operating large vehicles like tanker or water trucks.

- Experience with hydrovac systems or similar excavation methods highly preferred.

- Knowledge of construction site safety standards and practices.

- Familiarity with horizontal drilling techniques and paving operations is a plus.

- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Pay: $27.00 - $28.00 per hour
