Hydraulics/Stormwater Design Engineer
Carolina Transportation Engineers & Associates, PC (Carolina TEA) is seeking Hydraulic Engineers for both entry and mid-level positions. The positions can be in any of our office locations (Charlotte, NC, Columbia, SC, Greenville, SC, Charleston, SCor Raleigh, NC). Raleigh and/or Charleston locations are better suited for mid-level position.

Responsibilities may include:
•Design services for transportation and other projects for NCDOT, SCDOT, and other county, regional or municipal transportation agencies
•Developing drainage plans including closed pipe drain systems, roadside ditches and channels, pipe culverts, and erosion/sediment control.
•Hydraulic modeling for bridge and large culvert over river systems. Preparing Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) Reports.
•Site assessments for river/creek crossings.
•Establishing working relationships and interfacing with client technical staff and project managers • Assisting with the preparation of environmental permitting documents.
•Collaborating with our team of engineers to perform roadway stormwater design and prepare plans, quantities, and specifications for transportation projects.
•Typical project types include bridge replacements, roadway widenings, intersection designs, bicycle/pedestrian improvements, interstate improvements and interchanges.
Position requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
•Entry-level position requires 0 to 3 years of experience
•Mid-level position requires 4 to 8 years of experience and Professional Engineer’s license required or ability to obtain within one year
•MicroStation experience and familiarity with Bentley Open Roads Designer preferred
•Hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS is a plus
•Experience on NCDOT or SCDOT projects is a plus
