Are you a mid-level engineer ready to take your career to the next level in water resources? At DOWL, we’re seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and highly organized Water Resources Design Engineer to join our Water Practice in Montana. If you're passionate about applying your skills to impactful, multidisciplinary projects across the western U.S., this is the opportunity you've been looking for. As a Water Resources Design Engineer, you’ll perform intermediate to advanced levels of planning, analysis, and design for a wide variety of water resource projects—including irrigation canals, dams, storm drainage systems, stream restoration and fish passage, bridges, and culverts—with minimal oversight. Your duties will include field investigations and inspections, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, alternatives analysis, design and drafting, cost estimating, technical report writing, scope and budget preparation, and quality control reviews. You’ll be a lead engineer on diverse, meaningful projects that challenge and grow your technical expertise. We’re looking for someone with strong professional judgment, full proficiency in 2D and 3D design software, and a desire to learn, mentor, and contribute to our collaborative team.
