Position Summary:
Oversee control projects from inception through completion under the guidance of a Project Manager. Take ownership of projects and resolves issues in order to meet customer expectations, as well as project deadlines. Responsibilities include budget and schedule development, contractor and subcontractor management, system engineering, programming and commissioning. Conduct formal presentations and training sessions for customer meetings and events.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
•Perform control system programming and integration
•Management of assigned control projects
•Contractor and subcontractor management
•Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
•Provide controls training to owners and contractors
•Provide engineer, contractor & owner sales support
•Control estimating and technical support
•Assist with inventory control of commercial control products
•Answer controls technical support calls
Critical Knowledge and Skills:
•Read architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints
•Understanding of mechanical systems and basic electrical knowledge
•Understand construction documentation, procedures, and construction processes
•Knowledge of the construction industry as it pertains to HVAC and Building Automation Systems.
•Familiar with Direct Digital Controls & Instrumentation including protocol languages, control sequencing, and control devices.
•Experience using AutoCAD software in creating controls design and engineered submittals.
•Experience using the Microsoft Visio software in creating controls design and engineered submittals.
•Proficient in developing and presenting on technical product & services to a wide range of clients including end users, contractors, and engineers
•Troubleshoot HVAC mechanical operations and unit controls
•Program HVAC controls using graphical based programming software
•Experience in estimating construction projects.
•Create and customize graphics for Building Automation & Control Systems
•Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is preferred
•AA/AS degree with 5+ years related experience in HVAC industry or
•BA/BS degree with 3+ years related experience in the HVAC industry
