Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified HR Generalist to join our team. In this role, you will will be based in our West Jordan Shop and will be responsible for comprehensive support for our site-specific HR functions. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including staffing, employee relations, training, and development, as well as project work to support broader team initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
•Staffing: Assist with the recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding of new hires to meet site-specific staffing needs. Also ensuring that only candidates that are fully qualified to work on the SME team are hired full time
•Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, fostering a positive work environment and addressing issues promptly and effectively. Also escalating sensitive issues when support is needed
•Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations into employee concerns or complaints, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, ensuring documentation is done properly
•Benefits Escalations: Address and resolve employee benefits escalations, working closely with the CHQ Benefits POC to ensure timely and accurate resolution
•Payroll Issues Escalations: Assist in resolving payroll-related issues, collaborating with the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely processing
•Training and Development: Support the development and delivery of training programs for site employees, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
•Performance Management: Coach leadership on performance management skills, including providing guidance on documenting performance issues and supporting corrective action plans
•Employee Coaching: Work with employees to promote safety, quality, and the achievement of key performance metrics
•Corporate-Wide Initiatives: Contribute to corporate-wide HR initiatives, providing feedback and insights to the Corporate Headquarters (CHQ) regarding necessary process improvements
•Project Work: Take on special projects to support the broader HR team, including process improvements, policy updates, and other strategic initiatives
•Onboarding: Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization
•Other Tasks as Assigned: Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the HR Manager or site leadership
Qualifications
Required:
•3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role or equivalent experience
•Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization
•Proficiency with English and Spanish Languages
•Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and ensuring only the appropriate parties have access to certain sensitive data sets pertinent to their role
•Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
•Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office suite
•Strong organizational and project management skills
•Proactive approach to problem-solving
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
•High level of integrity and professionalism
•Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
•Be able to lift 25 pounds and support other site activities as required
