In this role, you will be a trusted partner to both leaders and employees. You’ll support and implement HR strategies across a broad range of functions, including employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development and labour relations. You’ll work closely with leaders and employees by providing guidance on policies, supporting performance and conflict resolution processes, addressing workplace concerns, and contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices. - Under direction of the Manager, Human Resources, implement company and business unit HR strategies, programs and processes (e.g., recruitment, employee orientation, compensation and benefit programs, labor relations, etc.)
- Support leaders in interpreting policies and resolving employee relations matters
- Handle personnel complaints and concerns and participate in their resolution
- Work with hiring managers to develop and execute staffing plans, initiate recruitment, prepare job descriptions and assess job level and salary ranges
- Administer short and long term disability and Workers compensation claims
- Monitor training/development needs, participate in the development of plans/programs, and support implementation
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices
- Support day-to-day administration of the collective bargaining agreement
- Support all aspects relating to the corporate benefits package
- Support and work with the Administrative/Logistics Supervisor to provide support to the Administrative/logistics team with flight management and general administrative tasks
- Support and work other HR staff members on the management of employment issues, such as:
- Provide guidance, education, administration and support on all aspects relating to company polices and standards
- Provide advice on employer/employee rights and responsibilities
- Assist with the management of disagreements, conflicts, grievance and arbitration procedures
- Advise on matters of effective employee performance management
- Comply with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures
- Degree in Human Resources (or equivalent combination of education and working experience)
- Minimum 5 years of previous HR generalist experience
- Supervisor experience would be an asset
- Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
- Intermediate skill level with computer applications including MS Office and HR databases (SAP and ADP)
- Human Resource professional certification is considered an asset
- Canadian Payroll Certification is considered an asset
1. Knowledge of WFN/ADP or another payroll data base
- Proficient knowledge of federal and provincial employment legislation, acts and policies
- Knowledge and practice of competency based interview techniques
- Excellent communication skills; able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
- Coaching, conflict resolution, relationship and team building skills, and demonstrated ability to influence
- Goal oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Able to make administrative and procedural decisions, and exercise judgment on sensitive/ confidential issues

- 14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
- Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required

Pick-Up Points:
Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac and Wollaston.
As a condition of employment the successful candidate must complete Orano’s pre-employment checks including education verification and employment reference checks.
