Storm Duty Requirements

Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.

Title: Helper-Special Service Worker/Fueler Company: Tampa Electric Company State and City: Florida - Tampa Shift: 8 Hr. X 5 Days

POSITION CONCEPT

The Special Helper Serviceman Operator is responsible for performing all phases of equipment & materialtransportaon of Tampa Electric Company’s fleet and equipment as assigned by the Supervisor Fleet Services. Thescope of this posion shall include those responsibilies defined in Exhibit “A” of the IBEW Collecve BargainingAgreement and/or the IBEW Intent Book where the posion is at a lesser rate of pay.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operates a full range of vehicles and heavy equipment requiring a Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class ALicense with X (HAZMAT) endorsement.

Transports heavy equipment and or material (actual or by transport) to various locaons within and outside ofTEC service areas.

Performs a wide range of pre-operaon safety equipment inspecons on a multude of vehicles andconstrucon/ulity equipment.

Demonstrates equipment training and safe operang techniques of off-road construcon equipment.

Conducts CDL-cerfied driver training for operaons personnel.

Provides minor equipment servicing of equipment being transported.

Demonstrates a working knowledge of Department of Transportaon (DOT) regulaons as they relate to specialhighway permits and bridge load length loading.

Fuels a wide-range of vehicles using different fuel types.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training Required:

High School diploma or equivalent. Commercial Driver License Class “A” commercial driver’s license (generalknowledge, air brakes, combination vehicle) with endorsement codes “H” tank vehicle, and “X” hazardous materials required.

Physical Requirements: (over 100%)


(Percentage of me in an average 8-hour day performing each of the following tasks)

Bending 15% Lifting 10%

Stooping 7% Standing 15%

Climbing 10% Reaching 10%

Typing 3% Driving 40%

Lifting Requirements:

(Assistance may be used if needed to perform safely)

10 lbs. or less 40% 30 lbs. to 40 lbs. 5%

10 lbs. to 20 lbs. 25% 40 lbs. to 50 lbs. 5%

20 lbs. to 30 lbs. 20% 50 lbs. and over 5%


WORK CONDITIONS

This posion will require irregular work schedules inclusive of night-shi assignments; temporary assignments tovarious Fleet locaons; overme; the ability to respond to call outs; occasional work on weekends; and the use of apersonal vehicle for business related transportaon.
