Job Description
The IT Help Desk Technician serves as the first point of contact for end users seeking technical assistance. This role is responsible for providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, resolving IT-related issues, escalating complex problems when necessary, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through professional communication and timely resolution.
Key Responsibilities
•Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance via phone, email, chat, or a ticketing system.
•Provide support for Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, VPNs, printers, mobile devices, and common enterprise software.
•Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and user guides.
•Support user account management tasks such as password resets, account unlocks, and access provisioning.
•Assist in the setup, maintenance, and configuration of devices and systems.
•Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
•Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not suitable, including hardware repairs, peripheral delivery, or other on-site support as needed.
•Maintain inventory of IT assets and equipment as required.
•Participate in on-call or after-hours support as needed.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
•Associate or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
•2–5 years of experience in an IT support or help desk role.
•Proficiency in Windows environments and Microsoft 365 applications.
•Solid understanding of computer systems, networking principles, and troubleshooting practices.
•Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices.
•Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
•Strong customer service skills with a professional and courteous demeanor.
