The Courtroom Technician (CT) provides technical support for Judicial Branch operations, focusing on courtroom technology, desktop/laptop computers, AV equipment, remote hearings, and more. This entry-level position requires strong customer service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn independently. The role includes troubleshooting Tier 1 computer issues, providing support during court proceedings, and assisting with various IT functions.
- Provide on-site technical support for desktop/laptop systems, printers, scanners, and AV equipment (audio, video, document cameras).
- Support user VOIP desk sets, presentation software, and manage video proceedings when required.
- Diagnose and resolve Tier 1 IT issues, assist with help desk tickets, and escalate complex problems as needed.
- Install and maintain equipment, including hardware repairs/replacements in Judicial Branch facilities.
- Manage hardware inventory, document processes, and draft work orders for vendor services.
- Assist in training staff on IT tools and systems (Zoom, Windows, OSX, Android, etc.).
- Support courtroom technology including audio/visual systems and remote hearings.
- Participate in technical planning, coordinating activities with other IT personnel and agencies.
- Respond to emergency calls during off hours and travel statewide when needed.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of audio/video equipment and multi-platform systems (Zoom, Windows, OSX, Google, etc.).
- Experience: Prior experience in desktop support or AV setup is a plus.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical users.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Additional: Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel across the state.
- Ability to work under pressure in high-stress environments.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
