Legal Assistant

Job Summary

Chief of Staff KC is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant for a trusted client of ours within the Prairie Village area. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support across various practice areas. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for managing case files, carrying out administrative duties, and ensuring efficient office operations.

Responsibilities

- Assist with all administrative tasks while supporting attorneys on staff

- Prepare, answer and compile documents

- Write, type, prepare and mail letter correspondence

- Assist in maintaining file and document organization and maintenance, initiating new procedures for better operation and file scans

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, yet structured environment

- Retrieve case specific legal research, as well as independent research on cases and court rules

Credentials / Experience

- Paralegal certificate or Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies required

- Previous administrative experience is required

Qualifications

- Maintain regular and reliable attendance + punctuality

- Ability to work independently and within a group

- Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others

- Type out documents and collate files

- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision

- Must be detail oriented

- Managing calendars

- Answering phone calls and email messages

- Independently make decisions

- Operate a computer, copier, scanner, fax machine and telephone

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
