Heavy Duty Mechanic / Fleet Manager

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic with fleet management expertise to oversee both the maintenance and operational readiness of our vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment (diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, braking systems, etc.)

- Develop and oversee preventative maintenance schedules

- Manage fleet operations including inspections, repairs, compliance with DOT and safety regulations

- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts inventory, and service history

- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies as necessary

- Supervise and provide guidance to junior mechanics or service staff

- Ensure fleet cost-efficiency by monitoring usage, fuel, and repair budgets

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school degree in automotive/diesel mechanics preferred

- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty mechanic

- Experience in fleet management or supervisory role strongly preferred

- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools

- Familiarity with DOT, OSHA, and other safety/compliance requirements

- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
