Hours per day: 11.5 or as assigned
Attend all required training and perform work in the field under adverse arctic conditions in remote locations. Maintain a fleet of Heavy Duty and Light Trucks, Generators and Equipment, performing preventative maintenance, safety checks and required repairs. Possess organizational and housekeeping skills to maintain records and keep work areas in proper order. Order parts and keep an inventory of necessary parts/tools to perform the job efficiently.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Vocational technical school preferred, not required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry.
- Current Volvo and Cummins heavy equipment experience with some knowledge of light duty.
- Experience with mechanical diagnostics.
- Experience with computer diagnostics for Ford light duty, Cummins heavy duty and Volvo heavy duty, preferably at least 5 years.
- Experience with computer diagnostics and servicing of newer Volvo loader (2008 and newer).
- Basic mechanical understanding of an automobile, truck and equipment.
- Ford Certification
- Team player with good customer service, communication skills and very safe work ethics.
- Must be able to read and interpret instructions & manuals.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (oral and written), able to follow instructions and adhere to company policies & procedures.
- Commercial Driver License class B or better required with air brake endorsement (preferred).
- DOT/medical card required.
- 5+ years’ experience with repairs and diagnostics with light trucks, heavy duty trucks and equipment.- North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) Card preferred, not required.
- Valid Driver License that meets ICE Services insurance criteria.
- Ability to adhere to strict policy and procedures per company and OSHA requirements.
- Must pass a pre-hire drug test, breath alcohol test, occupational fitness test, criminal background check and computer-based testing.
- Pass a motor vehicle report and possess an acceptable safe driving record.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Assist in other work areas/tasks as required.
- Ability to lift & carry 50 pounds on regular basis, routine walking, standing, bending. There is a lack of immediate access to critical medical services as well as urban community services.
- Rotational schedule of at least 11.50 hours per day for a minimum of 21 days consecutively as required.
