Responsibilities
•Safety is our number one priority. The right candidate must be able to identify and respond to dangerous situations quickly and safely. Must also have the ability to lead by example, follow all HSE rules and requirements and wear required PPE at all times.
•Read production schedules and work orders to determine processing sequences, furnace temperatures, and furnace roller speed requirements for joints to be heat-treated
•Create run sheets as per the design and requirements
•Follows up on test results and taking any corrective actions using thermal instruments and charts
•Set up water pressure as per design to quench products and continuously inspect water temperature and making sure that it is within the required range
•Frequently inspect for marks, gouges, smashed ends, dents, and the overall pipe condition
•Knowledgeable of proper light up and shut off furnace procedure
•Train new employees on work procedures
•Understands design qualification procedure as per SOP
•Continuously monitor pipe condition and marking reject pipes
•React following emergency procedure for power loss incidents
•Check that all machinery is properly serviced before start up and during shift
•Making sure that pipes delivered to the production line matches the shop order
•Must be comfortable using basic hand tools
•Must be aware of production standards for various product types
•Must be aware of heat treat heat/lots and assigned color codes
•Assists in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns
•Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product
•Assisting with documentation and or technical devices for recording production and findings, including reject material
•Knowledgeable in non-conforming color codes
•Communicating to supervisor any problems with material and equipment
•Report to supervisor for briefing on daily tasks
•Must maintain good housekeeping ethics.
•Keep work area free and clear of debris
Qualifications
•High School Diploma or GED required
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Advanced reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
•Knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes and procedures
•Minimum 5 years experience in a heat treatment facility
•Knowledge of API 5CT / API 5DP
•Knowledge of OCTG products
•Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish preferred
•2 years of supervisory experience required
•Ability to multi task using different instruments and screens
•Forklift certification preferred
•Ability to work in loud, hot environments and extreme weather
•Ability to sit, climb, balance, and move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
Standard work schedule is Mon-Sat, 7 AM to 7 PM.
Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical upon hire
